What’s happening this weekend in the Okanagan and Kamloops

Shake up your week with these fun events happening in Kelowna, Vernon, Penticton and Kamloops.

KELOWNA

  • Comedy Bloodsport – This comedy tournament is shaking up Dakoda’s Comedy Lounge on Jan. 16 from 8:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets are $22 each.
  • Kelowna Rockets vs Calgary Hitmen – Head to Prospera Place for this anticipated hockey game on Jan. 16 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets are $27 each.
  • Femme Fatale at Broken Hearts Club – Celebrate Kelowna’s longest-standing burlesque and dance group at Crown and Thieves on Jan. 16 from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets are $38 each.
  • Kelowna Fiddlers Dance – Dance your heart out at this all-ages event on Jan. 16 at the Seniors Activity Centre from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tickets are $10.
  • WhatNow Life Coaching Workshop – Grow your mind at the Kelowna Library from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Jan. 18. Entry is free.

VERNON

  • Saturday Morning Art Explorations – Drop in and get creative on Jan. 17 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Cardiff Miller Art Warehouse. Entry is free.
  • Ella’s Naughty Bingo – This 19+ event combines bingo and drag on Jan. 17 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at The Winston Pub. Tickets are $10 and bingo stacks are another $10 each.

PENTICTON

  • Kokedama Ball Workshop – Learn a traditional Japanese gardening technique on Jan. 17 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Sahara Garden Art. Tickets are $50 each.
  • Penticton Vees vs Calgary Hitmen – Catch this hockey game on Jan. 17, starting at 6 p.m., at the South Okanagan Events Centre. Adult tickets are $26 each and youth tickets are $10 each.

KAMLOOPS

  • Sun Peaks Film Festival – Enjoy three evenings of engaging films, running from Jan. 15 to Jan. 17, at the Sun Peaks Resort. Event times vary but the fun is consistent. Tickets are $15 per night or $65 for a full festival pass.
  • Celebrate the Ice – Riverside Park’s skating facility is having its grand opening on Jan. 17 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Entry is free.
  • Kamloops Storm vs Columbia Valley Rockies – Don’t forget to catch this hockey game at McArthur Island Sports Centre on Jan. 17, starting at 7 p.m. Tickets are $16 each.
