A Kamloops chiropractor has been accused of sending an explicit photo to a client.

According to a March 9 College of Complementary Health Professionals of BC, a member of the public complained that chiropractor Tyler Jackson had sent an explicit photo to a patient.

“The (regulator) considered the allegations serious and recognized the presence of factors that render the alleged sexual misconduct likely to recur,” the public notice says. “The allegation is a serious breach of boundaries that constitutes sexual misconduct.”

Jackson now has restrictions placed on him that bar him from communicating with clients via text message or social media while the regulator investigates.

“This is not a final disposition, but an urgent, protective, and temporary measure that will remain in effect until the matter is concluded,” a notice from the College says. “The (regulator) was concerned that there is a risk of the conduct being repeated if an interim order is not made.”

No details are given as to what the photo was of, or when it took place.

The College’s records show Jackson became registered in 2021, and worked at Inspire Chiropractic and Wellness Studio in Kamloops.

The regulator had required Jackson to display a sign at the front door of the clinic, in the reception area of the clinic, and in the clinic’s treatment area stating that he was restricted to only communicating with patients about providing chiropractic services, and barred from contacting them by text message or social media.

However, Jackson told the College the owners of the clinic had refused to post notices on the front door or reception area of the clinic, and the regulator instead ordered Jackson to give each patient a copy of the notice prior to treatment.

The College says that it is proportionate and sufficient to protect the public during the investigation.

None of the allegations have yet been proven by the College.
