SQUAMISH — Police are investigating after human remains were found by hikers at a B.C. park in the Sea to Sky region.

RCMP say the remains were found by two hikers in Shannon Falls Provincial Park on April 24.

The hikers notified police, and Squamish RCMP alongside the local search and rescue were able to find and recover the remains from the remote site the next day.

Police say they are working with coroners to determine the circumstances leading up to the discovery, as well as to identify the remains.

Investigators say there is no indication of foul play and there is no public safety risk.
