Calgary mayor wagers weight in food in Grey Cup face-off with Toronto
CALGARY – The Argonauts and the Stampeders may not be the only ones with bragging rights on the line in the upcoming Grey Cup championship.
The mayors of Toronto and Calgary — the two teams’ respective hometowns — could also be getting in on the action.
Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi is proposing a friendly wager that would see the losing city’s mayor donating his weight in food to the winning city’s food bank.
The loser would also have to wear the opposing team’s jersey for a council meeting.
Nenshi issued the challenge to Toronto Mayor Rob Ford on Twitter, but Ford has yet to reply.
The 100th Grey Cup is being held in Toronto on Sunday at the Rogers Centre, the Argos’ home field.
