HAMILTON – The mother of a southwestern Ontario man missing for close to a week pleaded for his safe return Sunday, saying his disappearance is breaking her heart.

Mary Bosma struggled to keep her composure as she described how her son Tim Bosma’s absence has affected his family.

She read a statement saying her Mothers’ Day wish is to have him home again with his wife, daughter and other relatives.

The search for Tim Bosma continued Sunday, a day after police arrested one of two men sought in connection with the case.

Toronto resident Dellen Millard, 27, is charged with forcible confinement and theft over $5,000. The second suspect has not been identified.

Bosma, 32, vanished Monday night after leaving his Hamilton home with a pair of men who responded to an online ad for his black 2007 Dodge Ram pickup.

“Even though there’s been an arrest, he still is not home with us,” Bosma’s mother said, her voice shaking as she made her plea to the media.

“My heart is broken. I love him so much. We just want him home,” she said.

On Saturday, police said their investigation was entering “critical hours.”

Investigators said they have “relentlessly pursued” more than 300 tips sent along to police, who have set up a hotline solely for the Bosma case.
