UK judge restricts protest outside Harrods after anti-fur activists irk Lady Gaga fans

LONDON – A British judge has limited protests outside a London department store after management complained that Lady Gaga fans were disturbed by anti-fur campaigners during an appearance last year.

High Court Judge Henry Globe said the singer visited Harrods in October to “advertise some perfumery” — her scent branded Lady Gaga Fame.

He said protesters with placards had caused “nuisance, annoyance and harassment” to some people attending the event.

Anti-fur groups have picketed the famous store for several years. The judge ruled that the protests could not take place in a pedestrianized area in front of the store, which had become a “tourist hotspot.”

He said Monday that protesters can continue to assemble outside of that area.
