Bombers take no action against Hefney after learning of marijuana charge
WINNIPEG – Winnipeg general manager Joe Mack says the Blue Bombers will take no immediate action against defensive back Jonathan Hefney over a possession of marijuana charge.
Hefney has apologized for not notifying the team of the May 31 incident in South Carolina.
Mack says he has been told the charge might just go away and that Hefney says he’s innocent.
But he says they have to let due process take its course.
He also said Hefney will play Wednesday in the first exhibition game of the season.
The Toronto Argonauts are visiting for the first CFL game at Investors Group field.
