Vancouver police say shooting was likely targeted; victim in serious condition

VANCOUVER – The Vancouver police say a shooting in the city’s east side that left a man in serious condition appears to have been targeted.

The shooting happened Friday evening, when people nearby called the police to report gunfire.

Officers found the victim, who was transported to hospital, where he is being treated for serious injuries.

A news release says investigators have yet to confirm a motive, but it appears to have been a targeted shooting.

The release says the subject was known to police, though the force did not elaborate.

There have been no arrests.
