Nova Scotia politician: I was cyberbullied after topless image posted online

HALIFAX – A member of the Nova Scotia legislature says she has been cyberbullied by a group of people over the past two weeks after someone posted a topless photo of her online.

Lenore Zann says the photo was taken from a scene in the cable TV series “The L Word,” in which she played a small part years ago when she was an actress.

She says when the photo was tweeted to her on Nov. 29, she asked the sender to remove the image.

Zann says she didn’t get a response until the next day, when she says she was told the photo would be left online.

At that point, she says, others joined in the conversation, resulting in a series of taunts, insults and personal attacks.

The NDP politician from the Truro area says she later complained to the sender’s parents, the local school board, Truro police and Nova Scotia’s new cyberbullying investigation unit, known as CyberScan.

Truro police say an investigation determined the case was not a criminal matter.

Zann says the CyberScan unit is still looking into the matter.
