Vernon man killed in rollover on Westside Road

An 18-year-old Vernon was killed when the pickup truck he was driving rolled on Westside Road Monday afternoon.

Emergency crews were called to the crash near the intersection of Westside Road and Lawrence Lane at around 3:45 p.m., June 15, according to an RCMP media release.

RCMP say the older grey Dodge Ram pickup was northbound on Westside Road when it caught the soft shoulder and rolled off the road.

The 18-year-old driver was thrown from the truck and pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Two passengers, a 19-year-old Vernon woman and a 15-year-old youth, were ejected from the truck and were taken to hospital with serious non-life threatening injuries.

Westside Road was closed for several hours.

Investigators are asking anyone with information about the rollover or dash cam footage to call the Armstrong RCMP detachment at 250-546-3028.
