TORONTO — Saskatchewan quarterback Trevor Harris, Montreal receiver Tyson Philpot and Alouettes quarterback Davis Alexander are the top players for Week 2 of the CFL season.
Harris completed 30 of 36 passes for 417 yards and three touchdowns in the Roughriders’ 31-27 win over B.C. on Saturday.
It’s the sixth time the 40-year-old Harris has thrown three or more touchdowns in a season opener.
Philpot caught nine passes for 193 yards and two touchdowns, including a 45-yard score on Montreal’s opening drive, in a 37-30 victory against Toronto on Friday.
Alexander set career highs with 30 completions, 42 attempts and 441 passing yards while throwing for two touchdowns in Montreal’s win.
Edmonton running back Justin Rankin, Montreal defensive back Robert Kennedy III and Winnipeg defensive lineman Jake Ceresna were the top players in Week 1.
