Yet another hot streak is coming for the Southern Interior including Thompson and the Okanagan.

Environment Canada has put out a heat warning for Okanagan Valley, Fraser Canyon, South Thompson, Shuswap, Boundary, West Kootenay for July 21 to July 23.

Daily high temperatures are expected to be around the mid to high 30s and overnight lows are going to be in the mid to high teens. The humidex is supposed to hit 33 C.

“Heat affects everyone, but the risks are greater for: seniors, people who live alone, people with pre-existing health conditions such as diabetes, heart disease or respiratory disease, people with mental illness such as schizophrenia, depression, or anxiety, people with substance use disorders, people with limited mobility,” Environment Canada said in its heat warning.

The same region had a heat warning last week, but things cooled off over the weekend.

There is also an air quality warning for South Thompson due to wildfire smoke.

The weather is supposed to cool off by the weekend again with a daily high on Friday around 32 C and around 27 C on Saturday.

The air quality forecast is showing low risk for the next 24 hours.
