TORONTO — The Toronto Blue Jays have selected right-handed pitcher Simeon Woods Richardson to their major-league roster and recalled infielder Charles McAdoo from Triple-A Buffalo ahead of their series-opening game Monday against the visiting Boston Red Sox.

Woods Richardson pitched 10 innings across three appearances for the Blue Jays without giving up an earned run earlier this season before being designated for assignment on June 26. He joined the triple-A Bisons after clearing waivers.

McAdoo has four hits and a home run in 25 major-league at-bats, all coming earlier this season. He is batting .269 with 16 homers and 57 runs batted in in Triple-A.

Both players were made available for Monday’s game.

In corresponding moves, right-hander Lazaro Estrada and utility player Davis Schneider were optioned to Buffalo.

The Jays also said outfielder Rudy Martin Jr. was assigned to the Bisons after clearing waivers and catcher Willie MacIver was designated for assignment.
