PORT COQUITLAM — A fire in Port Coquitlam, B.C., has destroyed two homes and sent one firefighter to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Jason Marshall, deputy fire chief with the Port Coquitlam Fire Department, says officers received reports before 10 a.m. on Sunday about a structure fire in the city.
Marshall says crews found two homes were engulfed in flames.
He says one of the firefighters was taken to hospital due to smoke inhalation and heat, but was later discharged.
Marshall says one of the residents was treated by paramedics at the scene for burns, but their condition wasn’t serious.
A total of 12 people have been displaced, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
