iN VIDEO: Sheer elation as golfer celebrates hole-in-one at Revelstoke Golf Course

A young golfer named Brandon Smith sunk a hole-in-one on a golf course in Revelstoke earlier this week, and his golfing buddy Tom Dubourdieu captured the special moment on video.

The two can be heard shouting, laughing and whooping in the background as they run to look in the cup to make sure.

“A hole-in-one is one of the best feelings in golf, and we’re always excited to share that moment with someone playing our course,” said the club’s marketer and graphic designer Olly Hogan.

“It’s one of the rare occasions where we actually condone running on the greens!”

Also called an Ace, a hole-in-one is a rare achievement where a player hits the ball directly into the cup with their first stroke from the tee box.

According to golfnio.com, the feat requires a combination of skill, luck and precision, with the approximate odds of an average golfer achieving the feat is 10,000 to 1. An Ace is widely considered one of the most exciting things on a golf course.

Located at 171 Columbia Park Drive, Revelstoke Golf Course is a gem in the small city, offering an 18-hole course nestled between snow-capped peaks and the winding Columbia River.
