KAMLOOPS – Someone was hit by a vehicle while attempting to cross the road at the rainbow crosswalk within the Thompson River University campus, but the driver took off before police arrived.
Kamloops RCMP are hoping a member of the public will help them identify the hit-and-run driver.
The victim is a 21-year-old woman who was crossing at the three-way stop. The area is not a marked crosswalk.
The vehicle involved is a dark blue four-door car with a fin on the back and the person allegedly at the wheel was female.
The woman struck received minor injuries and was assessed by TRU medical staff. She will require a follow-up with a doctor today.
Police say anyone with information about this incident can contact Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 or call Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous at 1-800-222-8477.
