Kelowna Rockets embarrass Americans

KELOWNA – The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Tri-City Americans 7-0 on Saturday night at Prospera Place in Kelowna as the Rockets power play was firing on all cylinders.

The Rockets scored four power play goals to skate past Tri-City as seven different players scored while Jordon Cooke earned the shutout in net.

Nick Merkley, Ryan Olsen, Rourke Chartier, Madison Bowey, Marek Tvrdon, Kris Schmidli and Damon Severson all scored for the Rockets, who outshot the Americans 46-20.

The Rockets now have just four games left in the WHL regular season as they play Tuesday at home to Victoria, Wednesday in Vancouver, Friday in Vancouver and next Saturday at home to the Giants to close out the regular season.
