More than $500K raised for families of men killed in Kelowna crane collapse

Over half a million dollars has been donated so far for the families of the five men killed in the collapse of a construction crane in Kelowna last week.

More than $568,000 had been donated as of today, July 19, to the GoFundMe accounts created for the families.

The crane collapse, July 12, claimed the lives of four men working on the construction site. The fifth man was an employee at Protech Consulting and was killed in his office next door to the construction site.

Some nearby residents are still unable to return to their homes as crews continue to secure the site.

That GoFundMe campaign in support of Brad Zawislak's family has raised more than $290,000. The online campaign for Eric and Patrick Stemmer's families has collected almost $163,000. The fundraiser for Jarad Zook's family has brought in close to $53,000, while the campaign for Cailen Vilnes' family has collected more than $62,000.
