TRENDING NOW: Cheerleaders to the rescue when b-ball out of reach

As March Madness got underway in Portland, neither the players nor the refs could reach high enough, even with the help of a pole, to extricate a basketball stuck at the top of the backboard.

Never fear, from the sidelines came two cheerleaders to save the day.

The St. Mary's Gaels went on to win the NCAA first round men's basketball game 82-53.
