Crack dealer taken off Vernon streets

VERNON – The Vernon RCMP Drug Task Force have arrested a known crack dealer.

The trafficker was caught red-handed in a parking lot near the intersection of 35-A Street and 40 Avenue.

Police say he was, “in the process of conducting his business with another individual.”

Officers searched the suspect’s car and found numerous five gram packages of crack cocaine ready for sale.

They also seized $1,600 in cash.

“These types of investigations are part of the ongoing strategic priorities of the North Okanagan/Vernon detachment to deter the drug trade and the related crime it creates,” according to the Task Force leader Sgt. Dave Evans.
