KEREMEOS – A 10-hectare grass fire on Pincushion Mountain north of Keremeos has been contained.
By the time fire crews arrived Friday afternoon, the blaze was already 4-hectares in size.
The fire was contained Friday night, but not before it had burned 10-hectares of grass and scrub, according to Kayla Pepper with the B.C. Wildfire Management Branch.
The responsibility for the fire was turned over to the Keremeos Fire Department, Pepper said.
Firefighters from Wildfire Management returned to the area Saturday to patrol for hot spots.
No word yet on what sparked the blaze.
