2:06 p.m.
A Beverly Hills anesthesiologist has been charged with giving a lethal drug overdose to a plastic surgery patient.
Stephen Kyosung Kim was charged with murder on Wednesday in the death of a 71-year-old doctor.
Prosecutors say Kim gave Dr. Mark Greenspan sedation medication before surgery on Sept. 26 at the Rodeo Drive Plastic Surgery Center.
Kim allegedly injected himself with drugs during the surgery and later gave Greenspan a lethal dose of Demerol while the patient was in a recovery room.
Greenspan went into cardiac arrest and died.
The 53-year-old Kim was arrested on Wednesday and released on $1 million bail. His arraignment was postponed Thursday. A telephone listing for him wasn’t in service.
If convicted, Kim could face up to 25 years to life in prison.
