Looking for a forever home; Penticton SPCA pet of the week

PENTICTON – Spike is a friendly guy who arrived at the SPCA after getting picked up as a stray.

He is a 4-year-old German Shepherd and Golden Retriever cross.

Spike needs a securely fenced yard and attentive owners with time to keep him occupied.

Spike hasn't had too much interaction with other dogs, so he doesn't quite know what to do when he sees them.

Gradual socialization with calm, friendly dogs should help him learn the ropes.

He loves to greet people and does jump up sometimes. Positive reinforcement for calm, polite greetings will set Spike on the right track. In the meantime, Spike might not be compatible with young kids.

Spike has a high prey drive, so a home without small animals would be best.

Spike's Animal ID is 418870.

Visit the South Okanagan Branch webpage for more information such as location, adoption fees, and hours of operation.
