COLDSTREAM – A Coldstream man lost his life in a heli-logging accident near Tahsis Sunday.
David Thompson Kennedy, 47, was employed as a tree-faller. The exact details of the incident weren't revealed by the B.C. Coroners Service, other than he sustained critical injuries on the job Dec. 7, 2014. He was transported to Campbell River and District Hospital by helicopter and ambulance, but could not be resuscitated.
Tahsis is located on Vancouver Island between Brooks Peninsula Provincial Park and Strathcona Provincial Park.
Kennedy's family have been notified of his death. RCMP, the coroners service and Worksafe B.C. continue to investigate his death.
