Girl asks guy to prom with Snapchat scavenger hunt

KELOWNA – A Kelowna high school student is breaking with tradition and using a modern approach to ask a friend to senior prom.

The student, whose YouTube username is JJMathh, made a video of the “scavenger hunt” she created for fellow KSS student Kaiden.

According to the video, she got the idea after watching the Disney movie Frozen.

“What I’ve done is I’ve created a separate Snapchat account that he doesn’t know who I am but I added him and I’m going to be sending him little scavenger hunt hints to lead him to find items at certain locations, which will all add up into the big picture,” she says. “Let’s pray that he says yes because if not then I guess I’ll go with my dog to grad.”

In the video, Kaiden is given several clues that take him to his “final surprise.”

“If you enter through the back of this particular door, you’ll find circles and lines painted on the floor. Meet at this place to receive your last prize and you’ll soon figure out the final surprise,” reads the last clue.

When the lucky guy arrives at the gymnasium, he finds his friend, whom he apparently calls Skrillex, holding a sign with a line from the movie that started it all.
