Witnesses sought in Grindrod hit and run
An Enderby man is recovering in Kelowna General Hospital after being hit by a vehicle near Grindrod.
Vernon RCMP spokesman Gord Molendyk says they are now looking for anyone who may have passed through Grindrod on Highway 97 A between 8 and 8:30 p.m. Nov. 9. That's roughly the time they believe the unidentified man was struck in a hit and run. The 59-year-old man suffered multiple broken bones as well as injuries to the chest and head. He was spotted on the road by another driver and taken to Vernon Jubilee, then Kelowna General Hospital in intensive care in serious but stable condition.
Police say they know the victim was at a pub earlier that night, but it's unlikely that has any significance in the incident. Anyone who was driving in the area on Friday night and may have seen someone walking along the road or witnessed this accident is asked to call Enderby RCMP at 250-838-6818.
