Premier Clark looks for non-smoking, no-pets home in new Kelowna, B.C. riding

KELOWNA, B.C. – B.C. Premier Christy Clark plans to set up house in her new riding of Westside-Kelowna after getting a resounding show of support from voters in Wednesday’s byelection.

The premier took in 62 per cent of voter support in the byelection that will put her back in the legislature after she lost in her home riding of Vancouver-Point Grey in the May general election.

Clark has already been on the Internet looking, but says she would also like to hear from anyone in real estate about a home that requires low maintenance.

She says her cat would stay in Vancouver, so she doesn’t have to worry about a no-pets policy and she doesn’t smoke.

Clark also made a $1-million funding announcement for improvements to a stretch of road on the west side of Okanagan Lake.

Westside Road was voted one of the worst roads in a B.C. Automobile Association survey, and Clark says she’s wants the funding to make the road as safe as it is scenic. (CKFR)
