THOMPSON-OKANAGAN – A heavy rainfall alert was issued today for much of the Okanagan and Thompson regions.
About 25 mm of rain is possible with a slow moving upper low moving into B.C. off the southern coast tonight. The areas under the alert include South and North Thompson, Nicola, North and South Okanagan, Central Okanagan and Shuswap. The rain should move into the interior regions starting Wednesday morning and continue through the day.
Rainfall amounts between 10 to 20 mm are expected by Wednesday evening, though embedded thunderstorms are also forecast for the afternoon. It's uncertain where these storms will develop. Some areas may receive higher total rainfall amounts, possibly reaching 25 mm.
