Looking for a forever home, Kamloops SPCA Pet of the Week

Tiberius

Tiberius came to the Kamloops SPCA from the local animal control where he had been brought in as a stray. Sadly no one came looking for him and he was in some pretty rough shape when he got to the shelter. He was treated for ear infections and staff struggled to get him to eat anything.

Tiberius was placed into foster care while he was receiving his medications and staff hoped once he was in a home environment he would be more interested in food. His foster parents offered him tons of different types of food and finally we've narrowed it down as to what he will eat. He will eat deer and buffalo, he does not like anything fishy. Even if the food is high quality its not a guarantee Ti will eat it. Ti is now eating roughly 4 cups a day of food.

He's an older fellow that doesn't require a lot of exercise but does enjoy a good walk once in awhile. Senior animals are the most overlooked animals in shelters but they have just as much love to give as a puppy would. He has lived with small dogs and cats but he does becomes jealous quite easily.

Tiberius needs slow introductions when meeting new dogs and should be rewarded for calm behavior.

Even though he's a big guy he loves being indoors with his "people" soaking up all the attention.

So if you're looking for a dog that's social and easy going then Ti might be the dog for you.

Please contact the staff at the Kamloops SPCA for more information.
