Humane society offering reward after Kamloops cat-napping of 11-week-old kitten

KAMLOOPS – Kamloops RCMP have a cat-napping case.

An 11-week-old kitten named Max was stolen from the Bosley’s pet store in Aberdeen yesterday, June 21, sometime between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. He was up for adoption through the Kamloops and District Human Society, according to a press release, and already had six applications to take him home.

Max is a particularly cute kitten, society executive director Barbara Zibrik says. He’s a brown tabby with medium length fur and a tattoo.

“He’s the friendliest, most adorable kitten you can imagine,” she says in the release.

Someone had already tried to steal Max the week before, but staff caught her and let her go once she relinquished Max. This time RCMP have been called.

The society is offering a $500 reward for Max’s safe return.

“We hope the person who did this thinks about their actions and reconsiders," Zibrik says. "They can return the kitten with no questions asked."

The society can be reached at 250-376-1366 or kamloopshumanesociety@gmail.com. The RCMP can be reached at 250-828-3000.
