BREAKING: Kamloops fire crews putting out downtown garbage fire

KAMLOOPS – Fire crews are fighting a garbage fire in downtown Kamloops.

Kamloops Fire Rescue assistant chief Steve Robinson says a garbage truck dumped its load in the parking lot at the Value Village on Seymour Street after it was noticed the garbage was on fire.

Firefighters are currently on scene working to put out the blaze in the parking lot, and traffic control is being conducted on Seymour Street.

There's no word yet on what caused the fire.

More to come.
