UPDATE: Mock urban search around KGH

KELOWNA – All the activity in the neighbourhood around Kelowna General Hospital on Saturday was a dress rehearsal for the volunteers with Central Okanagan Search and Rescue.

The team conducted a mock urban search within a 15-block radius of the hospital.

Search and rescue members were walking, bike riding and driving around the neighbourhood, while rescue boats travelled up and down the shoreline on Okanagan Lake.

They were looking for a possible missing person or persons.

“We were practicing our standard search patterns and plans,” COSAR vice president Duane Tresnich said.

The searchers tweeted the exercise live at @okrescue.
